Naked City Reviews

Naked City

This is absolutely the best complilation of music I have ever heard from a smooth jazz artist. I have every other CD by Jeff Golub and Avenue Blue, but "Naked City", to me, is still by far the BEST!! Almost makes me want to visit New York... Great job!!

This cd expresses "the many emotions associated with living in the Big Apple" as Jeff has said many times on his various touring dates. There is not a single "throwaway" song on the entire cd. Excellent stuff!

Very cool.
Although there are only certain times when my nerves can handle the music, it's can definitely be a lot of fun to listen to.

Naked City is the greatest combination of jazz and utter confusion.

Being an amateur guitarist with much enthusiasm if not much
talent, I am quite impressed with the obvious command of his
instrument which Jeff Golub seems to consistently display.
His understated, yet always tastefully executed, improvisations
remind me of the late Eric Gale. Listen to Gale's interpretations
of "Sara Smile" or "She is My Lady." I highly recommend
Jeff's CD as well as his most recent CD!

Great variety of music, my wife and I selected "Baby, I'm
Yours" at our wedding for the first dance. The music on this CD
is smooth as a baby's behind, glides like an eagle and is sweet
as the finest chocolate!

GREAT JOB JEFF!

I actually bought a used copy of this album without hearing it on a recent trip to Las Vegas. I visited the same store later that day and they were playing a great jazz track - I asked what it was and it was from the "Naked City" CD. I knew right then I had made a good choice. I'd really like to hear more. Pity your music is not so easy to buy in the UK...

KOSJ, Omaha's local jazz station has been giving Naked City a lot of airplay. After just hearing it once I was hooked. I rushed out and bought it. Sounds Great !!!!
Thanks Jeff,

Snow falling, February morning, listening to the title track,
as the M86 heads west and into Central Park. The snow muffles
all other sounds. Timeless.

As Phoebe Snow whispers about Jeff at the end of their Baby I'm Yours cut, "He sure can play!"
